Choosing outdoor room Materials

Posted on 11th August 2011 in Outdoor

We want to live outside and enjoy Mother Nature. Enjoying the outside should not mean having to work outside all the time to take care of it. The best way to accomplish this is to make sure that when you are selecting outdoor modern patio furniture that you select those best able to withstand the outside elements.

If you are living in Miami, that means being able to accommodate strong, penetrating sunshine and hot, humid days. Look to fabric that is both UV and mold resistant. Unlike the past where this was limited to a small selection of color and patterns, not so anymore; with a wide variety to choose from, you are only limited by your sense of adventure.

With an assortment of coverings to choose from look to modern outdoor patio furniture that is constructed out of durable materials and well crafted. Quality is key here as poorly constructed pieces will only fall apart in a short amount of time, a waste of money and resources. Durability is important so furniture made from rattan, quality woods or rust resistant metal construction will offer you great value for years of use.  Which material you choose should depend on both the look you are going for as well as the kind of maintenance you are willing to do.

Rattan is probably the easiest and most common material used for modern outdoor patio furniture. With its tropical good looks it fits in easily into any Miami backyard and is easily cleaned with soap and water. With space for air to circulate and its ability to shed water readily, it can be the perfect choice though you should consider other materials as well.

A solid wood bench can be a perfect spot to create a Zen setting providing great modern styling and a restful retreat within a retreat. Consider adding a couple of modern lounge chairs for a space that can accommodate one or a small group.

Rust resistant metal furniture is strong and sturdy providing for years of use. A glass tempered modern outdoor dining room table takes the worry out of dangerous breaking glass and it can easily be cleaned up with soap and water. The metal may need a refresher coat every year or so. If you live in New York, storing your furniture inside a shed during the harsh winter months makes sense prolonging the finish. Since living outside is commonplace in Miami and Los Angeles, a yearly coat of paint will keep your modern outdoor patio furniture looking fresh for years to come.
