As designer for the Royal couple Prince William and Kate, Kenneth Bordewick is in charge of designing the pair’s “4,000 sf rustic farmhouse in Anglesey, North Wales.” Bordewick may have garnered the job through a family connection, but it’s his talent that is capturing the attention of the Royal and celebrity alike.
In addition to projects for Shaquille O’Neal, the late Michael Jackson, Bordewick is designing the backstage retreats for some of the hottest entertainment events of the year such as the NAACP Image awards in March and most recently, the Billboard Awards 2011 where Modani Furniture was the featured furniture at both events.
On Sunday, May 22, some of today’s hottest names in music took over the stage for the annual Billboard awards. In between acts and during the show, celebrities visit the backstage gifting suite and celebrity retreat and lounged on Modani Furniture’s designs.
“We are extremely excited to have been featured backstage during this event by such a talented interior designer—it is such an honor,” said co-owner Steve Athea. “Our team had a great time working on this project and we are thrilled with the design results.”
Modani Furniture is continuing a trend of celebrity attention since inception in 2007. Modani has been utilized by Donald Trump, Kimora Lee Simmons, Kevin Hart, the recent NAACP Image Awards and on HGTV interior design shows among several others.
During the event, the room designed by Bordewick and Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors elicited positive celebrity comment from Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Lopez, Keish and Keith Urban. Most recently, CeeLoGreen was spotted buying one of the silver sofa featured at both the Billboard and NAACP event.
Modani Furniture currently has three showrooms in New York, Miami and Los Angeles. Modani conceptualizes on showcasing Modern Furniture by using clean minimalist lines, cool tones and new modern styles with bold features such as the glam ensemble used for the 2011 Billboard Music Awards.
